VELOCITY FROM CURVE

This tool is designed to take an input curve and basically add a cylindrical area of velocities around it to be used in many types of simulations to allow for more brute force control. The tool has many controls on it to allow the artist a range of manipulation. It has a ramp that controls the thickness of the tube of velocities around the curve. Also a ramp to control the scale of the velocities from the start to the end of the curve. A parameter to scale the overall velocity and also controls to add noise. Here are a few simple examples using this tool:

I have also found another really good way to impliment the tool is to use it as a pump rather than a source. Using the pump shelf tool will set all of that up, but then a Gas Linear Combination node should be fed into the merge with the pump that feds into the velocity update input of the Pyro Solver. This must be connected and the order swapped so that it is the first input into the merge. Destination and source should be vel and then the Coefficient can be used to adjust the influence of the velocities.

This tool can also be used to add control to FLIP simulations as well.
